ST Peter’s Church in Langford Budville is looking pristine after a much needed spruce up.

Stone panels behind the altar have been meticulously cleaned, restored and decorated after being struck by damp.

John Essex, fellow of the British Association of Picture and Conservator Restorers, refurbished the inside of the 15th Century church following funding from the Friends of St Peter’s Church group in the village.

The group aims to help ongoing conservation, restoration and repair work at the Grade I listed building.

Marjorie Stockley, of the Friends of St Peter’s, said: “It goes without saying that this kind of work is costly, so we make our usual plea for new friends to join us.

“Membership is open to anyone prepared to pay a minimum annual subscription of £12, and forms are available from the church or the membership secretary, Heather Cottrell, on 01823-667802.”

The church is open daily and visitors are welcome.
