TWO people were taken to hospital after a road traffic collision on the A39 at Bilbrook yesterday (November 29).

Fire crews from Williton, Minehead and Taunton attended the incident, which happened just after 2.30pm, to find three people trapped inside the two vehicles involved.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the casualties, who were treated by paramedics.

A woman, who was in a serious condition, was airlifted to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol and a man was taken by road ambulance to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton with minor injuries.

The road was closed for recovery and investigations until shortly before 8pm.
