TRANSITION Minehead and Alcombe is holding Open Homes days across West Somerset in September and October.

Open Homes gives people the opportunity to visit houses and community buildings which have been made more energy-efficient and cheaper to run.

Visits can be made in Watchet on September 13, in Minehead on September 20, Wheddon Cross on September 27 and Wiveliscombe on October 11.

The Wheddon Cross dates includes an information day in Moorland Hall between 11am and 3pm.

There will be free soup and refreshments, free draughtproofing items and stalls with information on energy efficiency, financial help, heating systems and renewable energy.

Installers will also be on hand to explain how things work. On Open Homes days, properties will be open between 11am and 3pm.

Programmes giving details of where the homes are and what is on show are available in council offices, tourist offices and libraries from the beginning of September.

They will also be available to view on www.forum21.org.uk
