EXPLORING the glorious countryside of West Somerset will be part of a series of outdoor activities being organised by 1610 this autumn.
Orienteering events, lantern workshops and family boot camps are all part of the fun programme of activities to inspire the local community to get fit and active in the great outdoors.
Events organiser Suzanne Richards said: “Exploring the great outdoors is one way of encouraging all the family to get fit and active at what can be a wonderful time of year.
“West Somerset has some stunning countryside to enjoy and the autumn events programme is a great way of encouraging younger members of the family to embrace fitness from an early age and to encourage all members of the local community to discover new walks and activities right on their doorstep.”
Orienteering in Dunster Deer Park kicks starts the events programme on Saturday (September 27).
The event begins at 2pm at the Packhorse Bridge in Dunster before going onto explore the deer park.
There will be orienteering fun as part of the BIG Adventure Day at Webbers Post on Wednesday, October 29, at 10am.
The Christmas Orienteering event takes place at Alcombe Combe on Saturday, December 13, at 1pm.
And the Family Boot Camp Challenge takes place on Sunday, October 19, from 10am-12pm, also at Alcombe Combe.
