THE councillor spearheading plans to deliver a new pavilion and multi-use games area in Williton says he is confident all the concerns raised by West Somerset Council have been addressed in the amended plans.

The council rejected the original plans in June amid fears about the impact on nearby residents, but Cllr Bill Vaughan is now confident that the plans, re-submitted on September 30, end those concerns.

He said: “The amended plans have addressed all the concerns that led to the initial refusal, and we’re working towards the December deadline to see if West Somerset Council can determine if they’re going to accept it or not.”

Williton parish councillors expressed disappointment in June when West Somerset Council rejected the plans, but the parish council took it on board when working towards their September 30 deadline.

The amended plans include moving the pavilion behind the GP surgery, but still on the Memorial Ground.

The parish council also has until December to appeal against the refusal.
