CHILDREN at Acorns Nursery in Minehead celebrated their Harvest Festival at West Somerset College’s Combe Restaurant.
The Rev Justine Richards and Christine Payne, organiser of the West Somerset Food Bank, went along for the celebrations. Babies, toddlers and preschoolers from the nursery joined their families, college staff and childcare students for the celebrations last Friday.
Rev Justine and the children discussed the concept of sharing during the short service and the children and parents made donations to the food bank.
Mrs Payne said: “It is lovely to see that they all thought of people who through no fault of their own cannot afford to go to the shops to buy food for themselves and their families.”
Julie Richards, manager of Acorns Nursery added: “We would like to thank everybody who helped to make our Harvest Festival such a lovely experience for our children.
“The hospitality students made the harvest loaf with us and the children had great fun shaping the mice.
“We are very grateful to the Rev Justine for her lovely service with the children who all engaged with her.
“We look forward to seeing her again for our Christingle Service on December 5.”
