A WOMAN from Exmoor has donated a doll’s house which took two years to make to the St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice Shop in Minehead.

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, is an Exmoor artist and tapestry designer.

She decided to make the house when she heard that the hospice needs a staggering £12,000 a day to run.

Everything in the house is hand-made, including unique hand-stitched tapestry carpets, delicately hand-painted and detailed furniture, and matching exquisite little hand-embroidered cushions.

There are even little original paintings in plaster frames.

The master bedroom features white hand-painted furniture decorated with pink roses echoing the wallpaper and a carpet featuring the same roses.

There are even tiny rose patterned plates made from air hardening clay.

Some of the cupboards and drawers have contents, including beautiful hand-made clothes donated by West Somerset Doll’s House Club and a little vintage copper warming pan from a Minehead seller.

The doll’s house is now available to view at the hospice shop in The Avenue.
