THE Alcombe Tandoori has been named as the Best South Asian Restaurant in the South West at a prestigious industry award ceremony held at the London Hilton Park Lane Hotel in Mayfair.
The West Somerset restaurant and takeaway beat off competition from far and wide to win the title at the Asian Curry Awards.
“We are very delighted and proud to have won,” said a spokesperson for Alcombe Tandoori.
It was the first time that the restaurant had taken part in the awards and was up against hundreds of restaurants for the accolade.
The honours are jointly organised by the Federation of Bangladeshi Caterers and the Asian Catering Federation.
The evening was hosted by Farah Amhed from Sunrise Radio, with Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg delivering the keynote speech to the nation’s best Asian caterers.
