THE Orchard’s Social Club has held a charity village breakfast at the Old Dairy, in Timberscombe.

The money will go towards the Playing Field Project which aims to replace the play equipment, which has been there for 25 years.

John Goodall, organiser, said: “It will cost £40,000 to renew everything in the playing park.

“MAGNA Housing Association have kindly given us a cheque for £1,000 towards this project, which is really good news.”

Around 40 people turned up for breakfast cooked by John, who trained as a chef “many years ago”.

John said: “I’m quite calm. I just take it all in my stride.”
