AN EXHIBITION of archived material about Exmoor will be on display at new premises in Dulverton High Street.

The collection includes books, letters, reports, pamphlets, press cuttings and releases, photographs, maps and pictures, and a complete run of the Exmoor Review.

Until 2014 this material was stored in dusty cluttered rooms in Rosemary Lane, Dulverton, but it has now been moved to more spacious premises at 34 High Street.

Now they are housed in an environmentally-controlled archive with separate library covering a range of Exmoor-related topics and a resource centre for use by anyone with an interest in Exmoor, its history and current issues such as sustainable tourism and survival of hill farming.

The Exmoor Society has amassed the unique collection of archive material relating to the contested, chequered and changing history of the national park status.

An official opening is taking place in Dulverton Town Hall on March 19 at 2pm.
