MORE than 250 pupils from the Exmoor Coast Federation hosted a two-day ABBA Spectacular musical showcase.

Children from Years 4 and 5 across all seven schools in the federation (Cutcombe First School, Dunster First School, Minehead First School, Minehead Middle School, St Dubricius First School, St Michael’s First School and Timberscombe First School) took part.

The show was produced by Cutcombe and Timberscombe headteacher Marcus Capel, who also played the piano on the evening, and was supported by Judy Shore, Adam Evans and Peter Phillips.

In the weeks leading up to the event, the children worked hard in their own schools to learn to sing 12 songs by the Swedish pop group ABBA.

During the performance, in between each of the songs narrators provided an insight into why each of the songs had been written.

Executive headteacher of the Exmoor Coast Federation and Dunster First School headteacher Paul Rushforth said: “I would like to congratulate the staff and children who took part for providing four wonderful performances that were enjoyed by all those who came along to watch.

“I would also like to thank Marcus Capel for all his work in leading the production.”
