Lidl store on Minehead Aquasplash pool site gets green light
The former Aquasplash pool in Minehead will be the site of a new Lidl store after planners gave the development the green light.
West Somerset Council’s planning committee voted yes to the supermarket and 100 parking spaces on the site of the council run facility that closed in 2008.
A bid to find a buyer for the pool failed.
The company claims that the Seaward Way complex will provide up to 32 new jobs for the town, however those against the plan said that there will be a "significant adverse impact" on other stores in the area.
