NEARLY 200 people attended a picture perfect event at West Somerset College arts evening.

The annual event, which has been running for over 15 years, allows students, parents, staff and the local community to view the work that the students have produced in expressive arts over the past academic year.

Visitors were able to view work by students from all year groups including this year’s GCSE and A Level Art coursework pieces. The exhibition, which filled seven rooms, also included work in textiles and, new for this year, A Level photography, made possible by the addition of a darkroom to the college’s art department.

During the course of the evening there were performances from music students who performed a live lounge style set for visitors as they walked between the different rooms.

Art teacher Keith Crocker said: "Yet again we have been beautifully surprised with the exceptional standards of the work produced from Year 9 right up to GCSE and A Level. It’s also great to see that the majority of our A Level students are continuing their journey of creativity and going on to study in Falmouth, London and Cardiff. May they continue to impress and enjoy the next chapter.”
