More than a 1000 people headed to Minehead's Blenheim Gardens for this year's Party in the Park event.

The event, which was organised by the local Rotary club, featured live music, bouncy castles, stalls and face-painting just to mention a few, and raised more than £1000 for Children's Hospice South West.

Live music was provided by Gordon Gear, sixties country and rock from Route 66, Acoustic Roots with solo performances from Remi Toth and Jade Ely and the show was rounded off by an orchestra and choir from Dunster.

There was plenty for the kids to do with a giant Wipeout-style bouncy style and there were also appearances from Peppa Pig, Elsa and Anna from Frozen and Rosie the bear.

One little girl, Molly Slade, celebrated with her first birthday “Party in the Park”, complete with cupcakes and balloons.

Organiser Delia Paveling was delighted to see even more people than last year, and many more young children really enjoying themselves.

“There was a great atmosphere all day” she said “So many smiling faces and tapping feet”.
