RUGBY WORLD CUP: England v Wales

This crunch match of the group stages between two fierce rivals is sure to be a fantastic spectacle, and what better place to watch it than on the big screen at Minehead Rugby Club.

Saturday, September 26, Minehead Rugby Club, Ellicombe, Minehead. The match kicks-off at 8pm.

 

BLOOD MOON

Skygazers are in for a treat this Sunday with a supermoon and a blood moon eclipse visible in the night sky, if the clouds stay away.

A Harvest Moon is the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox. The Northern Hemisphere will see the 2015 autumnal equinox coming on the 23 September, with the full moon on the 28 September being identified as the Northern Hemisphere's harvest moon.

There should be some great views out on Exmoor, Europe's first dark sky reserve.

 

RISING FOLK STAR

BBC Folk Award nominee Ange Hardy from Sampford Brett will be launching her new album with a special performance at Nether Stowey Village Hall on Saturday night.

The concert will feature songs inspired by Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s relationships with friends, family and acquaintances, verses of his poetry set to music, new songs inspired by his characters and stories, and even tales based on fragments of his dinner table conversations.

DULVERTON ART EXHIBITION

IF you fancy a spot of culture there is a chance to see paintings, sculptures and jewellery by a group of Somerset artists in Dulverton from Sunday.(September 27).
Four Somerset artists are holding an exhibition at the Guildhall and Heritage Centre until October 10.
Works on display will include Linda Bareham-Stanley’s stone sculptures, Caroline Lytton’s silverware and jewellery, as well as Exmoor-inspired paintings by Ruby Rebecca Horn and landscape paintings by Monica Ismay Horn.

CHARITY CONCERT

Head to the Regal Theatre tonight (Friday) for a moving and uplifting set of songs, words and images from musicals and the charts, all of which reflect the work of the West Somerset Advice Bureau, featuring well-known and talented local performers.

Fundraising for the West Somerset Advice Bureau, starts at 7.30pm. Tickets: Adults £7.50, students £5.

 

MINEHEAD COMEDY

Join comedian Mark Palmer for an evening of comedy at the Hub in Alcombe on Saturday.

Tickets cost £5 and can be purchased on the door.
