A WEST Somerset care worker has received a Great British Home Care Award.
Sara-Jayne Locke works for Somerset Care supporting customers to live independently in their own homes and was nominated for ‘Care Newcomer Award’ in the 2014 Great South West Care Awards.
Following her achievement, Sara-Jayne was then shortlisted for the 2015 Great British Home Care Awards in Birmingham, where she was announced as the winner of the ‘Care Newcomer Award’.
Speaking on Sara-Jayne’s achievement, Dr Jane Townson, chief executive said: "Though Sara-Jayne had only been with Somerset Care for a couple of months, she handled some difficult situations with skill, calmness and professionalism, took initiative, and went above and beyond the call of duty."
