A BBC Folk Award nominee from Sampford Brett is performing a tour of intimate concerts in village halls along the Coleridge Way to coincide with the release of her new album.

Singer-songwriter Ange Hardy has taken on the project of putting the life and poetry of Samuel Taylor Coleridge to music for her new album Esteecee which begins in Nether Stowey Village Hall this Saturday.

The tour continues Halsway Manor (SOLD OUT), Holford, Bicknoller, East Quantoxhead, Sampford Brett, Stogumber, Wheddon Cross, Roadwater, Luxborough, Luccombe, Porlock, and Brendon before ending at Lynmouth Pavilion on October 18th.

Despite regularly playing to sold-out theatres and large festival crowds Ange said she has always thrived on intimate venues, with candlelight and an enraptured crowd.

The new album features ten other nationally acclaimed musicians including Steve Knightley and it has already garnered a wide-array of 5-star reviews and has been called a 'masterpiece' by some critics, with songs receiving airplay on BBC Radio 2 as well as in the US, Netherlands and Australia.

Ange received a grant from the Arts Council to help produce the album, and hopes it can be used as an educational resource as Coleridge's Ryme of the Ancient Mariner is still on the UK school curriculum.

Tickets are £10 in advance (£12 on the door) and available from www.alongthecoleridgeway.co.uk or 07555 226 137 - tickets are also available from at least one outlet in each village that the tour is passing through (variously from shops, pubs and visitor centers) so look for details on the poster on your local notice board.

For the final night Lynmouth Pavilion are offering a special 2 course menu for £15 per head, but these do need to be booked in advance with the Pavilion.
