THE first acts have been announced for this year's Watchet Music Festival 2016 including BRIT-nominated band The Feeling.

Other acts announced today include Peter Hook and The Light, 3 Daft Monkeys, the Neville Staple Band and Dreadzone as the festival prepares to celebrate its 10th Birthday.

The Feeling had a string of top ten hits in the mid-2000's including 'Never Be Lonely', 'Fill My Little World' and 'Love It You When You Call'.

Peter Hook and The Light frontman made his name playing bass in legendary bands like Joy Division and New Order and will be bringing his brand of rock to West Somerset this August Bank Holiday weekend.

Neville Staples, a former member of classic ska-band The Specials, leading his band are sure to get the crowd going.

Other acts announced include Geno Washington and the Ram Jam band, Hobo Jones and the Junkyard Dogs and The Majestic.

A spokesman for Watchet Live said: "With last year’s event selling out in record time (the festival’s fifth successive sell-out year), and legendary performers such as Sir Bob Geldof, The Selecter, Seth Lakeman and Big Country all taking to the stage, last years wellington boots are big ones to fill.

"However, with a stellar line up already announced and a number of major artists still to announce, 2016 is undoubtedly set to be the biggest and best Watchet Festival to date."
