WILLITON'S Magna Careline is celebrating after gaining a glowing report from the sector's regulator.

The organisation provide personal alarm systems to help people remain independent in their own homes.

Magna Careline West Somerset received renewed gold stars for best practice in two areas from the regulatory body Telecare Services Association (TSA).

MWS community services manager, Barbara Mullan, said: “Accreditation to the TSA is much sought after and there is a lot of work in getting and maintaining it.

“The assessor who looked at our work said once again that we were a high quality organisation.

“At our audit last year we had three minimal recommendations. It’s unusual to get such a great result. For our assessment this year we did even better, with only a couple of recommendations which we were able to implement straight away.”

Christine Bulpin, senior community services officer, who pulled all the information together for the assessment, said: “This accreditation underpins the quality of service we deliver to our customers.

“It’s a good benchmark for us and shows the service is performing really well.

“It was a lot of work but the end result is well worth the effort. We do all we can to provide a high quality service to our customers and it is very rewarding to see this endorsed by our regulator.”

Six parts of the service - referral, service user profiling, telecare plan, service tailoring, installation and response – were all judged to meet the TSA’s code of practice.
