A DEDICATED RSPCA volunteer is stepping down after more than 21 years service to the charity.
Alice Beak was the longest serving volunteer at the RSPCA's charity shop in Williton but retired at the end of October.
The shop has seen a lot of changes in that time but Alice rarely missed a shift and Roger Dixon from the Williton branch said many will recognise her as 'our cheery Monday morning lady'.
"All of us at the RSPCA shop in Williton would like to thank Alice for all her help and dedication over the years.
"Of course her retirement means we have to find someone else who is willing to replace her as a volunteer at the shop on Monday mornings," Mr Dixon said.
The RSPCA shop has raised nearly £300,000 since it opened and all of these funds are spent on helping animals in the Somerset area.
If you think you could spare a few hours a week to volunteer at the shop, contact Roger Dixon on 01823 253729 for further details.
