A PENSIONER was rescued after getting trapped in a lift in Minehead.
Firefighters from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called just before 6pm on Thursday to the incident on Manor Road, Alcombe, Minehead.
One fire appliance and one 4x4 vehicles from the Minehead base were called, and on arrival found an elderly resident trapped in a lift at a residential property.
The lift had broken down due to a power cut, and firefighters got to work manually operating the lift back to the ground floor.
After it descended, the pensioner was safely freed, and the duty of care was left with staff at the site.
