AN event will be held at the Beach Hotel in Minehead for people to find out more about jobs arising from Hinkley Point C.

West Somerset Council employment and skills staff will be hosting the event, which will take place on June 15 from 4pm-7pm.

Representatives from Hinkley Point C Jobs Service, G4S Security and Facilities Team, Somerset Larder and Somerset Passenger Solutions will be present.

The free event will give people the opportunity to find out more about the project, and talk directly to employers about their current vacancies at Hinkley Point C.

Andrew Goodchild, assistant director for Energy Infrastructure with West Somerset and Taunton Deane councils, said: “After the success of our recent Jobs and Careers Fair, we are pleased to be supporting this Hinkley Point C initiative and we hope that local people will take the chance to visit this event and find out more about the opportunities on offer.”

David Blight of EDF Energy’s Hinkley Point C jobs service said: “Many people would be surprised at the wide range of potential jobs being created, so it is well worthwhile coming along to find out more.

"The Hinkley Point C Jobs Service has access to live job vacancies across all parts of the project, including among contractors, and can help people spot opportunities, give advice on how to apply and guide people through the application process.”
