EMERGENCY services have rushed to a scene in West Somerset after a lorry crash into a wall.

A fire engine was sent from Minehead to the incident, which took place on High Street, Porlock, at around 3.17pm this afternoon (August 7).

A spokesman for the fire service said: "On arrival, the crew confirmed that a HGV had collided with an external wall of a property.

"A local builder attended to assist crew with construction props to support unsecure railings that were also involved.

"The crew removed the HGV from the building and the railings.

"The crew then removed the railings as they were loose and hanging over into a carriageway."

The incident has been handed over to Somerset Highways.
