The crews headed up to the B3224 Health Poult Cross, near Wheddon Cross where upon arrival they found a woman trapped in one of the cars.
The woman was given first aid by paramedics before the firefighters got to work.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said the woman suffered a possible fractured leg and was airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
A male casualty was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital with injuries to his face.
Highways also attended to clear the road of fuel and oil spillages, duty of care was left with the police.
