THE Minehead Eye needs your votes to help secure a grant towards its new Community Inclusion Project.

The aim is to help make the centre more accessible to hard to reach, disadvantaged and isolated community and youth groups in West Somerset.

A spokesman for the Minehead Eye said: “A number of groups have regularly shown interest and request the use of our centre and its resources.

“All community fun days and taster sessions numbers have been significantly high considering the area’s modest population and significant rurality. Unfortunately, we have been unable to dedicate additional staff time, resources or finances and equipment to make this practically viable and enable some of the most isolated and vulnerable the opportunity to use us on a regular basis.”

Examples include a special educational needs group wanting to work with a local musician to use the Eye’s recording studio to record a Christmas CD, or help for transport costs for groups to take part in a number of activities.
