A FAMILY-RUN garage in a West Somerset village is looking to add a 425 square metre expansion building so it can perform MOTs.
Brendon Service Station in Washford has been part of the village since the 1960’s but no longer sells fuel, now primarily selling cars and offering repairs. The new proposal is to create a new fully-equipped service, repair and MOT centre with a new access road which will give access from A39.
A spokesman for Brendon Service Station said: “The current site is restricted by what it can offer to its customers due to its size.
“The amount of stock that can be sold at any one time is limited as well as the type of work that can be carried out in the garage itself by its employees.
"Currently the garage does not have enough space to carry out MOT’s internally. The garage is successful, however, it has reached a point where work is turned away, delayed, or outsourced due to size.”
