SCOUTING For Girls, Turin Brakes and Reef will complete the headline slots at Watchet Music Festival this August.

After a year off in 2017, the festival is back with a bang, having already announced former Spice Melanie C, Britpop band Cast and The Wurzels.

Scouting For Girls will headline on Saturday, August 24. The band, famous for hits 'She's So Lovely' and 'Elvis Ain't Dead' have sold more than two million records and have been nominated for four Brit Awards and an Ivor Novello.

Also appearing on the main stage on Saturday will be indie rock band Turin Brakes. The band had a number of hits in the early 2000's including 'Pain Killer', 'Fishing For A Dream' and 'Underdog'.

They also had a recent resurgence with three singles from their critically acclaimed album ‘Lost Property’ receiving national radio play listing.

Reef meanwhile are one of Somerset’s best known musical exports. This alternative rock band will be rounding off the main stage line up on Friday 24th! Whilst the iconic anthem ‘Place Your Hands’ is unquestionably their best-loved track, in a career stretching 23 years they have scored nine Top 40 hit singles across five hit studio albums, including such classics as ‘Naked’, ‘Come Back Brighter’ and ‘Yer Old’.

Organisers also announced that two-tone band The Selecter will be returning to headline the Sunday.

A Watchet Live spokesman said: "With their huge back catalogue of hits including ‘Too Much Pressure’, ‘On My Radio’ and ‘Missing Words’ The Selecter will close our festival party with everyone skanking!"

Other announcements include rowdy folk rockers Skinny Lister headlining the Udder Stage, while the ever-entertaining Ten Pound Suit Band with their rockabilly take on pop and rock songs will also be warmly welcomed on their return.
