AN aspiring Watchet music producer has released a special Christmas song in memory of his cousin.

Samuel Victor had planned to release the single, Little Old Boy with American rapper Kon Artis, last week but re-wrote the song after the death of his cousin Jamie Smith.

Samuel said: “A memorial festival of live music is being planned for next summer to celebrate his life and the proceeds will go to charity.

“I decided to re-write the words to the track and release it on its own as a fund raising exercise for the event.

“The new Christmas track is called Stars and Angels and samples Love Came Down at Christmas by American rock band Jars of Clay.”

The song will be available to download for free, with donations going towards funding the festival.

Samuel added: “The track has a really powerful vibe with a choir pitted against guitars and synths.

“It is a track offering support for those remembering lost loved ones who can't be with them over the holidays.

“I had great fun producing it and hope it means something to someone and can move people to feeling more positive at what can be a lonely time of year for some.”

Little Old Boy ft Kon Artis of D12 will now be released on the January 14.

Samuel Victor’s first major release featured multi-platinum rapper Bizarre, a member of notorious Detroit rap group D-12.

The 26-year-old is working on releasing an album featuring top American artists including Akon, D-12 members Bizarre and Kon Artis, Ghostface Kil-lah from the Wu-Tang Clan and Travis McCoy from Gym Class Heroes in February.
