SEA Scouts in Watchet have received a cheque from Quantock Rotary Club which will boost funds for an ongoing project.

Rotary treasurer Martin Cox travelled to Beacon Hill on the Quantocks to present a cheque for £400, raised by the Exmoor Ironman event, to the group, which was taking part in training on the plain.

Group scout leader Malcolm Bale said: “We’ve been converting the toilets on Watchet Quay and have nearly finished.

“What the Rotary Club has given us will pay for one of the partitions, which will mean we’re very nearly at the finishing line.

“We have a close relationship with Rotary – we work together with them at the Ironman events and they help us out when they can.

“We’re very pleased to have received the money. Without a shadow of the doubt this money will really help the Sea Scouts – every little helps.”
