A RECORD number of teams entered this year’s Exmoor 30:30, which raises funds for the Royal British Legion.

The race covered 30 miles or 30km and saw entrants carry 30 pounds of weight in their backpacks.

This year’s winning team, The Royal British Legion South Molton Branch, completed the 30-mile course in just over eight hours and raised £8,000.

Team Captain Barney Andrews said: “We are absolutely thrilled with our win. This event is the ultimate challenge but we’ve been training for months to make sure we were in top condition at the start of the race.

“I’d like to thank all those who have supported us and have helped us raise so much money for the Royal British Legion. We are now looking forward to a well-earned rest.”
