ORGANISERS hope Dulverton Carnival on Saturday (October 6) will be bigger and better than ever.

The committee has provided a cash incentive to many floats to reduce construction costs and both Dulverton Town Council and Exton Parish Council have contributed towards staging the event.

Floats and entries from Watchet and Porlock carnivals are welcome to take part in the only night-time carnival in West Somerset.

Organiser Jan Ross said: “The event gives the chance for the whole southern Exmoor community to come together for a great evening of celebration.”

A Rural Craft Fayre will run alongside the carnival from 1pm to 9pm in the town hall, with metalwork, furniture, ceramics and textiles among the items on offer.

The town centre in Fore Street will be closed between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.
