WIVELISCOMBE Rotary Club is helping Santa meet hundreds of children in the area this month.

The bearded wonder makes his first appearance in The Square, Wiveliscombe, on Wednesday, December 7, at 5pm, when he will switch on the town's Christmas lights with the assistance of pupils from the primary school.

Afterwards, children will have the opportunity to meet Santa in his igloo, when he will be handing out presents, while people will be able to enjoy food and drink, including roast chestnuts.

There will be a ticket system for Father Christmas, so children won’t have to wait for long in a queue and special arrangements will be made for the youngest children.

Over the following week the Rotary Club will be taking Santa on a tour of the area, visiting - Cotford St Luke, on Friday, December 9 and 10; Wiveliscombe south and east, Monday, December 12; Milverton, Tuesday, December 13; Wiveliscombe north and east, Wednesday, December 14; Langley Marsh, Thursday, December 15.

Then on Christmas Day Santa will visit homes to deliver presents personally - any gifts for delivery should be left at Webber Estate Agents in the town by 1pm on Wednesday, December 21. There will be a modest charge per item which will go to good causes.
