TWO people were injured after a crash between a car and a van on the A38 near Wellington.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 12.32pm today, on the A38 near Brimstone Lane in Sampford Arundel.

The crash involved one car and one van.

Two patients, one man and one woman, were treated at the scene by paramedics.

It is not believed their injuries are serious or life-threatening.

The road was blocked in both directions, and there were lengthy delays in the area.

However, a spokesman for police confirmed both vehicles had now been recovered, and the road had been re-opened.

A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said: "We were called to the scene at 12.37 to reports of a collision between a car and a van on the A38 near Wellingon.

"One male and one female were injured in the crash, but they were treated at the scene by paramedics and their injuries are not serious or life-threatening."
