YOU'RE being asked to do your bit to help a secondary school win £1,000 of building materials.

Kingsmead School, in Wiveliscombe, would use the prize to enable Year 8 students to create an outdoor mural.

The school is one of three finalists in the RGB Building Supplies Well Built Community Fund - and needs your vote to bank the prize.

The design of the mural would be focused around the local area in the summer time and the exciting things that happen at the school.

As the mural will be on permanent display it would give visitors the chance to see what the students can do.

Kingsmead School is up against Weir Quay Community Watersports Hub Club in Yelverton and Holsworthy Primary School.

Ed Livesey, branch manager at RGB Wiveliscombe, said: “Our Well Built Community Fund continues to prove extremely popular and once again we were inundated with nominations from schools, community groups, projects and charities from the region, so congratulations to Kingsmead School for being chosen as a finalist.

"As the local branch to the school we’re encouraging people in the area to get involved and vote for them.”

Votes can be cast by visiting RGB’s Wiveliscombe branch during opening hours and placing a chip in the relevant box, by clicking the chosen group on the poll that will be at the top of RGB’s Facebook page or by emailing RGB@pmwcom.co.uk and putting the name of the group being voted for in the subject line.

The poll will take place between today (Monday, May 22) and midnight on Sunday, June 4.

Only one vote per person via each method of voting will be counted.

The winner of the £1,000 worth of building materials will be the group that receives the most votes.
