THE pounds keep rolling in for the Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment (SURE) campaign.
This week a massive £3,205 has been donated, £2,855 of which was raised by a sponsored walk held at Taunton Racecourse last month.
That puts the grant total now raised at £25,438.
The SURE campaigners are aiming to raise £600,000 to provide equipment for a new cancer centre in Taunton.
They want to provide diagnostic and treatment equipment for the centre so patients will no longer have to make regular trips to Bristol, where the nearest treatment facilities are currently located.
In the next few weeks the total should jump even higher when the amount raised from the Moonraker walk is finalised.
