THE Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy has had a crowning moment, as regulars from the Crown Inn, in Staplehay, have presented SURE with a cheque for 1,170.
The cheque was given in memory of one of their friends, Ken Churchill, who had been battling against cancer himself.
The money was raised by holding race nights and a cycle ride.
Ken's wife Jean, and his son, Neil, came down for the presentation, along with the landlady, Anne Blake and Jeff Gale, supporter of SURE.
Donations for the previous week have come from the Hendy brothers, of Wiveliscombe, for 100.
Forthcoming events include bingo at Donyatt Bowls Club on Friday, July 6, at 7.30pm.
