THE organiser of the County Gazette-backed Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment appeal has thanked readers for their support in 2007.
Writing in the County Gazette Postbag, Eric Saffin said: "SURE has had support from individuals, clubs, societies, organisations, churches and the business community.
"Thank you to everyone who has helped, thank you to the County Gazette for your support and help."
The campaign aims to raise £750,000 to provide the new cancer unit at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.
This week, Mr Saffin announced more donations from readers: Staplegrove Short Mat Bowls Club, £46; Bishop's Hull WI £60; The Trefoil Guild, £66; Miss S. Weymouth, £130; Mr and Mrs Dickenson, £111.
The donations bring the County Gazette total to £79,528.
You can do your bit for the campaign by using our form to donate money and by attending a SURE bingo at Norton Fitzwarren Village Hall tomorrow (Friday) - eyes down at 7.30pm.
