A MAJOR sponsored walk is being held in Taunton to help raise thousands of pounds for the Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment (SURE) in just one day.
The 10 10 10 sponsored walk hopes to get 1,000 people to take part in a grand sponsored walk at Taunton Racecourse on Sunday, October 8.
The idea is to get 1,000 people to raise just £10 each before October 10 - resulting in £10,000 being raised for the charity, which is backed by the County Gazette.
And all participants will have to do is complete one lap of the racecourse.
The SURE sponsored walk is being incorporated into a Sports Leisure Show being held at the racecourse, where visitors of all ages will be able to watch and try their hand at a range of activities including archery, golf, tennis and many more.
And entry to the show is free of charge to all walk participants.

The County Gazette campaign to try and raise the final £200,000 for SURE has leaped up to £13,707 this week - just three months after it was launched.
The group hope to raise £600,000 to provide equipment for a new cancer centre due to be built at Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital.
