Borehamwood Bowls Club travelled to Abbots Langley for a league match and lost 47-66, with one of the three rinks going down.

The third rink was skipped by club captain Roy Edwards, who led Dickie Daniels, Eric Whitney and Neville Simons to a 20-18 victory after being 3 shots down going into the final end. The friendly rink saw Dave Mooring's team of Dave Guest, Andy Bennett and Bryan Mason triumph 22-15.

The following morning saw Borehamwood host Hemel Hempstead in the Hertfordshire Team Top 10 Competition and they made home advantage count by winning all four matches.

Arthur Moseley won the singles 21-16. The pairs saw Colin Williams and Ken Sharp run out worthy winners by 20-1. John Roe, Ron Price and Tom Barker emphatically won the triples 26-13, whilst Roy Edwards led Arthur Muir, Neville Simons and Norman Harrison to a 22-18 victory in the fours.

In the Watford and District League triples competition Jean Snook's team of Edna Hardiman and Doris Edwards finally triumphed in a nail-biting finale. Going in to the final end one down, they got the shot they needed to draw level, and, with a determined effort, won the match by a single show, 17-16 on the extra end.

An even more dramatic win was secured by Borehamwood in the St Albans and District League Triples Competition, in which John Doe and Tom Barker, skipped by Roy Edwards, found themselves six down with only two ends to play. However, a four and a three saw them run out relieved winners by 17-16.

In the second round of the Watford and District League Singles, Arthur Moseley followed up his first round win last week with a 21-11 victory over M Sooby.
