300 million reasons to vote Conservative
It is polling day today in the County Council elections and also for the European Parliament.
Locally, there are at least 332 million reasons why you should vote for your Conservative County Council candidate.
Every one of them is worth £1 of your money.
There is the £317 million debt with which the Lib Dems have now saddled Somerset - £1,500 for every household.
The debt mountain is now three times as high as it was just six years ago.
Then, there is the £25 million of your money the Lib Dems have lost in risky investments in Icelandic banks which went bust.
That is not to mention the fact that they have axed the money for repairing potholes in roads which have become worse and worse, nor the fact that our pavements are the worst in the Westcountry, nor the heartless cuts in funding for voluntary organisations and for the welfare of the elderly.
Time for change I would need the rest of this page if I was to tell you about all the things that have been going wrong at the County Council, and I have not yet even mentioned that they have doubled your Council Tax at the same time … No wonder people are crying out for a change of leadership and direction at County Hall.
Today, you have the chance to make that change happen, but only if you vote Conservative.
Really, it’s a no brainer.
