A TAUNTON trio have completed a 15,000 feet tandem skydive to raise money and to say thank you to the skin cancer charity Make Me Smile'.

Anthony Reed was diagnosed with malignant melanoma last year and was successfully treated in the Abbey ward of the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital.

To say thank you he decided to raise some money for the ward, and enlisted his uncle, Jamie Dobson, and family friend Anita Fouracre for a tandem skydive at Dunkeswell airfield.

After some training, all three made their way to 15,000ft in Skydive UK's new King air' twin turbine aircraft with co-pilot Kurtis Green, who is Jamie's nephew.

"It was absolutely amazing," said Anthony.

They have been campaigning for four months to raise awareness of skin cancer and the dangers the sun can pose.

Anthony's mother, Lorraine, said: "People have been so generous and it has been so much fun fundraising.

"We would like to thank everyone who has helped with the fundraising, sponsors and donations, it has been well worth it."

On June 10, the fundraisers finished their campaign with a car boot sale at Bishop's Hull. They also raffled a giant polar bear from The World of Bears and made £120. The lucky winner was Dan Jackson.
