A TEAM of support workers across Somerset is offering apprentices the chance to change lives on a daily basis.

Lifeways is offering an inclusive recruitment program, with support workers being provided with a paid induction consisting of classroom and service-specific learning, e-learning and shadow shifts to ensure you are fully trained and supported before commencing at any of the firm’s facilities.

Following the successful completion of the probationary period, participants will be awarded the Care Certificate.

Suzanne Deakins, of Lifeways, said: “We are a national employer and provider of support services for people with diverse and often complex needs in community settings. With 10,000 staff supporting more than 6,000 people, we place the individual at the heart of all decisions.

“We listen to and respect their unique needs and aspirations before delivering a tailored support package designed to maximise independence.

“We currently employ around 100 support workers and team leaders locally covering Taunton, Bridgwater, Langport, Curry Rivel, Shepton Mallet, Weston Super Mare, Yeovil and Chard and have a number of additional opportunities available.

“You will be nominated to attend a variety of service specific training and complete vocational learning and qualifications appropriate to your role.

“This training is designed to give you the key skills required to deliver support that is person centred and specific to your service’s needs. We offer local, full and part-time contracts with guaranteed hours in addition to bank contracts, which offer more flexibility.”

Carl, one of Lifeways support workers, said: “This role is more than just a job for me; it’s about making a difference.

“I go home every day knowing that I’ve changed someone’s life for the better.”
