PAUL Knight was a comfortable winner of the John Tallack Trophy at Padbrook Park with a three under par nett 69.

Knight was the only player to break par and finished four shots ahead of Will Blundell and Jamie Smith who both shot 73s. It was third time lucky for Knight who has been runner up in two previous events this season.

A birdie on the 13th helped Ray Cavill to victory in the October Stableford.

His score of 37 points was one better than Rob Broomfield and Will Blundell. Blundell, who has now been in the top three in the last three events, had been on course for victory until he dropped three shots in the last two holes.

Mike Partridge stormed to victory in the Summer Consolation singles as he came from one down with three to play against Duncan Stamp.

Partridge, who has also won the midweek Stableford order of merit, turned the match around by winning the last three holes to register a two hole victory.
