CRAIG Aitchison posted an exceptional score of 45 points to win the men’s November Midweek Stableford at Tiverton on Monday.

Aided by a birdie on the 2nd, the 18-handicapper finished two ahead of Order of Merit champion Tony Allsopp in Division One.

Allsopp carded an excellent two-under gross 69 for his 43 points, helped by birdies on the 2nd, 7th, and 17th.

Norman Webber was the only player to better his handicap in Division Two, scoring 37.

Graham Dyson came in with 42 Stableford points to win the first veterans’ Duckworth Salver competition of the winter on Tuesday.

The 12-handicapper finished two clear of Terry Barwell.

Teresa Birchmore and Sue Norris carded 53 Stableford points to win the ladies’ Odds and Evens competition.

Nicola Chilcott and Margot Seamer (52) were second ahead of Jane Moulding and Karen Allsopp (51) and Janet Derrett and Chris Williams (51). Both scores counted on the odd-numbered holes while one counted on the evens.

Junior Grace Jackson clinched the Amory Putter on Saturday after beating Ian Brierley in the last four and David Grieve in the final. Earlier she defeated Tom Waldron in the junior section final.

The victory capped an excellent season for the 11-handicapper, who was recently named in the South West Birdie Squad for England coaching.

The Captain’s team beat the Vice-president's side 12-7 in their annual challenge match on Saturday.
