IT has been an outstanding season for rugby at Blundell’s School, Tiverton – not least because of the school’s success so far in the Daily Mail RBS Schools National Rugby cup which it entered for the first time this year.
Both the Under 18 team and Under 15 team have made it through to the post-Christmas stage of the tournament.
In the Under 15 competition Blundell’s have beaten Park School (Barnstaple) 77-0, Exeter School 29-19, Richard Lander School (Truro) 27-10, and King Edward’s VI School (Southampton) 17-13.
They now go through to the seventh round where they will play High Wycombe’s Royal Grammar School in January.
The Under 18 team have won against Queen Elizabeth’s Academy (Crediton) 50-0, Exmouth College 38-8, Bicton College 30-25, and Millfield School 27-19.
They play Truro School in Round 6 of the competition next month.
Other rugby triumphs for Blundell’s include both Under 14 and Under 15 teams being unbeaten in every game they have played against some top South West opposition, including Clifton College and Bryanston.
