RUGBY: Focus on hospitality at Taunton's Hyde Park

FOLLOWING the structural change that moved senior rugby management to control Titans Rugby – an independent limited company owned by TRFC – further management changes are afoot at the club.

The rugby club’s management committee is advancing plans to introduce a further new company to take the helm of Hyde Park, the club’s highly successful events and conference centre.

Hyde Park staff deliver weddings, conferences, parties, ‘Tribute’ nights, celebrity dinners and other events.

The move was announced by club secretary Ben Goddard who said: “The service they provide is recognised by past and present customers as outstanding.

“We want Hyde Park to excel even further, building on their success to help grow our club.

“To help achieve this we have sourced a number of proven ‘business leaders’ to join us as non-paid Directors of Hyde Park.

“Their experiences, expertise and business acumen will be a major asset as we continue to grow and develop Taunton rugby club.”

In his mid-season statement secretary Goddard praised the Youth section which continues to go from strength to strength.

He added: “The work and commitment shown by parents, supporters and of course the children is a pleasure and joy to behold.

“The hard work in making the club sustainable and creating the progression pathway allows for these invaluable existing fans and players of the club to stay with us all the way through to Seniors and maybe even Veterans.”
