TAUNTON Titans entertain high-flying Hartpury at Hyde Park tomorrow (3pm) on the back of a stunning victory.

Their 28-10 success over Clifton in Bristol last weekend was just the tonic for Taunton’s battling rugby aces.

It was not just Titans win that silenced the critics, but the nature of the win. Coach Yapp’s youngsters produced a near flawless display of high tempo running rugby from the first whistle.

However there is no question Titans will have to be at their very best on Saturday.

Hartpury have close links with Gloucester and boast a host of ‘The Cherry and White’ talented development players in their squad supported by Ex Internationals and students.

Coach Tony Yapp said: “Hartpury have a load of advantages with their Academy System and support from Gloucester, but they showed frailties last week surrendering a 26 point half time lead losing 29-31 on their own turf to Canterbury.

“They beat us up there in September, but the score flattered them and when Mike Pope wriggled over to bring us within nine points early in the second half there was no doubt in my mind that they were creaking and there for the taking.”
