PARALYMPIC bronze medallist Lucy Shuker inspired players at a wheelchair tennis open day on Sunday.

The event, hosted by Taunton Tennis Club at Blackbrook Pavilion, aimed to promote the sport to wheelchair users.

Coach Ivor Griffiths said: “It was great to see so many players get together and enjoy playing tennis.

“I hope that with sessions in Taunton and Yeovil the numbers playing tennis continue to grow”

Shuker, who lives near Taunton, won bronze at London 2012 in the ladies doubles and made the final of the Australian Open Doubles earlier this year.
