RUGBY: Taunton Titans offer early birds free pie and a pint
TAUNTON Titans face another important home game when they entertain Cambridge-based Shelford at Hyde Park today (3pm).
An injury to prop George Cooper, following the departure of Sonny Haines to Weston Hornets, poses coach Tony Yapp with front row selection issues.
The highly rated Cooper, an ever- present with the Titans of late, has been having treatment on his arm injury but is distinctly doubtful for Saturday.
Titans Operations Director, David Webber, said: “We’re offering a free pie and a pint to the first 200 fans buying tickets on the gate to help put early bird fans in the right mood to get behind the team.
“There is little doubt that a supporting crowd in good voice certainly draws the best from the players.
“We have the firepower to win this one and encourage the fans to turn out in force. The bar opens and noon and the kick-off is 3pm."
