YMCA Kings reclaim their spot at the top of the Ark Removals Taunton Table Tennis League with a win against Ark Tigers in a marathon match.

Neither team gave up with numerous sets going beyond 11 points. Vince Jackson’s maximum was a key factor for the Kings, as the match went down to the wire with John Troke winning the final match of the night to edge past Tigers by just one point.

Saints Edgers provided a shock win against Ark Angels, losing just two matches all night.

Chris Norman continued his excellent form, not losing any match all night.

He was backed up with Martin Reading and Emma Kirby as Edgers took a key win.

Ark Tigers have now made the fight for the trophy a three team race following a dominating performance against Chameleons.

Chameleons did their best to provide resistance, taking numerous games to five sets, however only Rod Richards could pull out a win as Tigers were one point short of maximum points on the night.

In Division One, Monday Knights take the top spot after a gruelling match against YMCA Rainbows that took over three hours to finish.

Neither side wanted to lose as Rainbows put up a strong resistance, with John Cross taking part in four five set matches but only winning one.

Mike Hughes’ maximum was the key factor however on the night.

Motley Saints provided a shock win against Saints Paradox to dent Paradox’s chances of winning the division.

James Cross was on form and won all of his matches in the night, proving the star performer for Motley as they took a big win.

Results: Premier – Ark Tigers 31, Chameleons 14; YMCA Kings 22, Ark Tigers 21; Ark Angels 16 Saints Edgers 30.

First Division – Saints Paradox 16, Motley Saints 26; YMCA Rainbows 19, Monday Knights 26; Rebels 2, Monday Knights 33; Golledge Eagles 24, Team X 19; Golledge Eagles 23, YMCA Marauders 19.
